Welcome to the ECIX website
INXS, founded in 1994, is the first ever Internet Exchange Point in Germany. Through several corporate changes, INXS eventually became part of Vodafone. However, as of November 2015, INXS is part of the ECIX network of regional IXPs. We are extremely proud to be associated with the name INXS, which represents more than two decades of peering.
ECIX has made improvements to INXS by upgrading it to a multi-site modern 100GE IXP, further strengthening the foundation for a better connected internet in Germany. Today, INXS is the most advanced IXP in Munich providing 1GE, 10GE or 100GE ports in the Vodafone (Cable&Wireless) Landsberger and Equinix MU1 datacentres.
We would also like to thank Kurt Kayser and Michael Ratcliffe, who founded the INXS in Arabellapark. Secondly, we would like to thank Torsten Blum, Thomas Forster and Oliver Knapp, who relaunched INXS at the Landsberger facility. Thanks to their efforts, we are now able to build on a strong local community. We are also grateful to the Munich Internet community for joining us in the relaunch of INXS and hope that, with your help, Munich will become one of Europe's strongest peering marketplaces.
Please take your time and have a look at the ECIX website. As you will find, all ECIX services are readily available in Munich at present. We will maintain the name INXS for the ECIX Munich sites and welcome you to connect at our other locations as well.
